PL Thomas (PLT) has released the results of a new study using its dietary supplement ingredient GliSODin, which demonstrated a significant reduction in susceptibility to sunburn in a model using UV radiation-induced skin burn. In the double-blind, placebo-controlled study, UV skin burn was induced on the inner forearms of healthy subjects before supplementation with GliSODin or placebo, and each week for four weeks during supplementation. GliSODin supplementation resulted in an increase in the minimum exposure to UV rays necessary to produce skin burn. In particular, phototypes II required eight times greater exposure than that of the placebo.
